Reserved: James A. Acconcia, 56, 92 Basil Drive, Weirton, charged with possession of addiction devices and cited for driving while suspended, Wednesday. David Patterson, 31, 3532 Elm St., Weirton, arrested on an out-of-Hancock County arrest warrant for probation violation Thursday.
Theft: A charity reported that its donation container was stolen from a local store on Wednesday.
Snatched: A man who said he was walking along a riverside path reported that a man he knew passing by on a bicycle stole a bag of tools and copper pipes from him on Wednesday . Police checked the area and were unable to locate the man on the bicycle.
Fight: A man reported that another man he knows, and said he’s had persistent problems, assaulted him at a local store on Wednesday. According to the report, the man said the individual started harassing and threatening him, using explicit language to say he was sticking his mouth out and doing nothing and then kicking him in the genitals when he turned to leave. The complainant said he responded by dropping his groceries and punching the man in the face. The report states that the complainant overheard the man say that the next time he would shoot him. Store workers who witnessed the altercation confirmed the complainant’s story and offered security footage to police. The complainant did not wish to lay charges, just to have the man leave him alone. The police located the man in question and advised him to cease all future contact with the complainant.
