An officer observed a vehicle in Mass. Ave and Rindge Ave stopped at southbound traffic light and operator tapping on her cellphone. When the light turned green, the operator continued to type and drive south on Mass. Ave. The vehicle was stopped in Mass. Ave. and Porter Street, where a Somerville resident was identified as the driver of the vehicle. His right to drive a motor vehicle in the Commonwealth had been suspended and he was summoned to court for using an electronic device while driving a motor vehicle, operating after suspension and not having a license in his possession.

Archiel Grdzelishvili, 43, New York, NY, was placed under arrest for possession/use of fake/stolen RMV document and possession of tools with intent to commit identity fraud. Grdzelishvili walked into a bank in Brattle Square to try to get multiple bank statements for multiple accounts. After providing a Connecticut driver’s license with an alternate name, a bank employee was alerted by the computer system that this person may be using a fraudulent name and bank employees were able to call Cambridge police. The defendant would not provide any personal information when speaking to Cambridge police officers. Through investigation with multiple officers and detectives, officers were able to determine that the defendant was not the identity of the person listed on the Connecticut driver’s license.
